Cooler air arrives, rain off and on through Wednesday

A lot of buzz today about the Winter Storm Watch posted for parts of Colorado's high country above 11,000 feet, but cooler, more fall-like weather has arrived in Denver as well. Rain showers have developed up and down the urban corridor this evening, and will continue off and on through the day Wednesday. Some mountain locations may see up to 2 inches of rain before it is all said and done, with a half inch to inch expected in the metro area.

Daily maximum temperatures are also set to plummet, after highs in the 90s Monday, Wednesday and Thursday highs will be in the 60s in Denver. Some locations along the Front Range may even struggle to reach 60 on Thursday. Overnight lows will drop into the 40s Wednesday night, with low 40s in town Friday morning.

Warmer weather returns Saturday with highs back in the low 80s, before coolers weather makes a return early next week.
